Proven Leadership and Investor Commitment
Establishing Europe’s largest login company gave us a solid foundation, but even we were surprised when investors decided in less than five minutes to support EIDP. Their strong commitment, including future investment, highlights their confidence in our mission.
CEO Jeroen Starrenburg, a prominent leader and owner of a private family investment fund, has made significant investments in EIDP as well. Starrenburg maintains a pragmatic outlook on European progress, expressing optimism for remarkable achievements within the continent: “I am realistic, I believe miracles can happen in Europe.”
He articulates a balanced perspective on globalisation, emphasising that he is not opposed to international products and services. However, he strongly believes that Europe must retain control over its critical infrastructure. According to Starrenburg, one of the most strategic decisions for the region is ensuring that essential infrastructure remains under European stewardship. Developers, companies, and datacenters should emulate Europe’s strength by uniting in the mission to build a robust European infrastructure.
Furthermore, Starrenburg advocates for Europe to leverage the benefits of high technology. He observes that while mid- and low-tech industries are important, it is the high-tech companies that command the stock markets and shape the future. In his view, Europe should strive not only to participate in these high-tech sectors but to actively increase its market share and global influence in these areas.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Starrenburg points to his leadership in building a thriving enterprise. Together with a talented team, a robust customer base of over 100 large enterprises, and a dynamic group of investors, we successfully established Europe’s largest CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) vendor. This achievement culminated in the acquisition of the company by Thales for a notable sum of 100 million, underscoring both the value created and the potential for European-led innovation.
In summary, Starrenburg’s vision emphasises a Europe that remains open yet strategically autonomous, prioritising high technological advancement and retaining control over its critical assets to secure a prosperous future.
